I'm looking at a project in Angelina County, Texas and was curious if there was anywhere on the Net where I could download a shapefile, dxf, dwg, etc. of the local parcels. I'm not that familiar with what GIS info is available for Texas. I've found the TNRIS site and some data at the Texas GLO website but neither have parcels available.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

TNRIS only has original surveys based on scanned in hand drawn maps. Individual regions vary on availability of data, depending on the level of sophistication of the local gubmint agencies. I would recommend contacting the (name of county) county appraisal district.

It would only be GIS/tax map quality info, but might get you started.

Good lord you picked one hell of a county to work in. I think that you can purchase the appraisal district files from them in a format that you want.

TNRIS however will give you all survey lines and roads (highway and county).

Thanks for the advice. I'll see what I can find. Here in Arkansas we have a fantastic central location for all GIS data. I was hoping there was something similar in Texas but no sweat, I'll contact the assessor and see what I can find.

Thanks again.
