Newly purchased Spectra Ranger 7 running survey pro. While using stake to line and collecting topo shots I??ve had the touchscreen AND keyboard lockup and only way to resolve is to reboot but of course you loose your setup and have to take back sight again. It??s annoying. I thought these new collectors were supposed to be so much better than previous Rangers but I??m underwhelmed. Survey pro seems to still plod along.?ÿ
There is a certain key stroke sequence on my Carlson 2 which locks up the touch screen (by design) which often confounds me until I remember that I just need to undo whatever keystroke sequence I had just accidentally done.?ÿ
Both the Softwares I use (Sokkia Magnet Field and Microsurvey Field genius) let you keep your last setup if you have to reboot or switch into another job for whatever reason (office calls asking about something etc). Field genius asks if you want to use your last setup and magnet just assumes the last setup.?ÿ

Doesn't fix your freezing problem but at least until you figure that out maybe you can figure out a way to default to the last setup?
Contact your vendor.?ÿ There have been a multitude of issues with both the TSC7 and Ranger7 that stem from Windows updates corrupting drivers.?ÿ Whoever sold the Ranger to you should be aware of the issues and be able to fix you up in no time.?ÿ I know it usually takes about an hour when someone is seeing the same types of issues when running a TSC7 with Access.
