We have been using the side of a large filing cabinet labeled Monday-Friday for years to schedule our field work. When a job comes in, we simply post a sticky with a job description on the day we want the work to be done. This works pretty good, other than when a client calls in wanting to schedule work we tend to have to put them on hold and go look at the board. Does anyone have any suggestions/experience with some type of program/website we could run on our network here so that everyone in the office could see the schedule from any of our computers at any time? Just looking for ways to improve.
Thanks,
A shared Google Calendar would probably work....
I actually use that so that my entire family can have a common view to all of our activities. And at least we know ahard of time when we need to be in two places at once 😛
My company uses a shared google calendar as well. We are a small company, so it is fairly easy.
We just have excel spreadsheets for the field and office staff stored on the admin drive and everyone has shortcuts on their desktop.
:good: :good:
I like that idea. Not to be lazy, but any chance you could email me a blank one so i don't have to set up the sheet from scratch? Im sure i may need to tweak it a little for our specific needs but it would be a great start. brian@roudabush.com
Thanks,
Done
Thank you sir!
If you are looking for the ways to improve your employee scheduling, then you should at least try the free trial of any roster software. Get in the app and see just how easy it is to get things set up.
There are many employee scheduling solutions out there but, there is only one that I am personally aware of that is Replicon's rostering software. This employee scheduling solution works for everyone and able to use more easily. Here's the link for your reference - http://www.replicon.com/olp/rostering-software.aspx
Anyway you could also email me the spreadsheet? I have been using snap schedule. I currently run12-15 field crews so I'm always looking for faster ways to get this job done. Cking@espassociates.com.
Thanks
I want to throw out schedulehead as it would be useful for putting crews together for a job. It could help keep track of events, but I think that google calendars would be a better fit for keeping track of dates.
Jim,
Any chance I could get a copy of your excel spreadsheet? Email in profile is good.
Thanks.
