2013 Civil 3D. I have a drawing with surveyed points in a database. Is there a way to add my calc points to the database so that when I rotate, they aren't left in place? I know it's pretty basic, but I'm scratching my head and wishing it was a field day.

insert them in an ascii as an import event. That way they are in the database and not cogo points.

Anything imported through the database cannot be altered....there are both good and bad to this setup. IMO mostly good, because you know your points are going to be moved by someone downstream (workflow-wise) from you.

Like iwi said, import your calc points through the points menu function and not the survey database.

Once I get points out of the data collector I strictly work with the points on the screen. I unlock them to rotate them or move them and it I add points they show up on the screen also and can be move andor rotated. You just have to remember if you upload back to the data collector you have to start over since none of the points will match up with whats in the data collector.

We can translate rotate scale a survey database. Right click the Name of the surveydatabase you are wishing to translate -> Translate Database.

You can pick from the screen or use coordinates to rotate to, translate to, etc. Plus elevation datum adjustment.

This moves ALL the networks in the database, though. So it's an all-or-nothing operation.
