An earlier post was about a new tech that basically had a mobile hand scanner the size of a phone. It recorded scan data as you walked around with it. I actually requested to be a developer, but received the following response:
Dear Developer,
Thank you for applying for Project Tango Developer Kit. We were thrilled by the response and enthusiasm for doing new and exciting things with these prototypes. The 200 prototypes are now in the hands of a broad range of companies and universities across the globe. We can’t wait to see what these early adopters come up with!
We wish there were more units to go around but the program is still very early and most of you will have to wait until later in the year for news on future devices. As a way to stay connected, we would like to invite all applicants to join our new Project Tango Google+ community. You can connect with other developers and enthusiasts who will be sharing their vision for future where all mobile devices have a human scale understand of space and motion.
We’ll be posting project updates from the team and sharing demos from our early developers there in addition to our website and the Google ATAP YouTube channel.
The future is awesome. We can build it faster together.
Best regards,
Project Tango Team
Guess I didn't have the necessary background. But it was worth a shot. :-/
Don't feel too bad; with a population of a little over 7.2 billion, I'm sure there are A LOT OF PEOPLE on this planet, interested in this technology.:snarky:
B-)
That letter reminds me of my Tech Writing 101 class. One of the assignments was to write a letter that rejected an applicant, while keeping everything positive, and without using words and phrases like "no" and "not" and "we're sorry, but ... ". The prof. had a list of words and phrases you could not use. If used used the word "no" once, it was an F. It's harder than you think.
