I am trying to connect a Trimble ranger with windows mobile 5.0 to windows 64 bit system through usb cable it will work on another windows 7 64 bit system but not mine anyone have any answers
fct487,
Have you installed Windows Mobile Device Center?
Dave
Assuming you have Windows Mobile Device Center installed.
Start menu
Settings
Connections tab
USB to PC
uncheck Enable advanced network functionality
on most of our DC's this has worked for us, good luck
Yes I have installed windows device center land for some reason my dc want let me uncheck that
When I try to uncheck the USB to PC box and hit ok it says failed to disable RNDIS to use serial what is reason for this
fct487,
"...uncheck the USB to PC box..."
I don't have the slightest clue what that's about. Windows Mobile Device Center, like Active Sync, has always worked automatically and without gliches for me.
What program are you using on the Ranger? Survey Pro? Survey Controller? Do you have Trimble Link or Survey Link?
Dave
Carlson surc ce
fct487,
OK, then, how about Carlson Connect?
Dave
I have Carlson x port
The Final Solution
fct487,
OK, you have two options:
1. Use the computer that works to put the file on a thumb drive. If the thumb drive doesn't work on your problem computer, then walk the problem computer out to the trash can.
2. Download Carlson Connect. It's free. If that doesn't work, then see #1 above.
Dave
I have no idea why unchecking the "Enable advanced network functionality" box worked for us. I do know that when our company switched to Windows 7 64 bit machines using Windows Mobile Device Center rather than ActiveSync we had to go through all of our DC's and do this, from rangers to tsc3s.
ok I tried unchecking mine and it want let me did you have any that wouldn't let you uncheck it
No, they all unchecked with no message at all.
well mine says the message that is stated in an earlier post and cant find any reason why or how to get it turned off
did you check the "connection settings" in mobile device center?
