My brother printer is toast. I have one each of a black and yellow cartridge still in the box. Part no. LC65HY-BK LC65HY-Y. If anyone one can use them for a small fee plus shipping they can be yours.

I can feel your situation because of a lightning strike that took my printer, etc out and can add to your list of spoils.

I have up of reasonable trade or offer three LC65HY-M cartridges for someone plus any or all parts from the MFC6490CW printer including top and bottom tray

No rum or fruity drinks allowed;-)

I had a similar problem, then I broke down a purchased on of those whole house surge protectors that goes on your electric panel. Yes, it cost me $450 for the part and installation, but that was WAY less than the damage the last strike did and it absolutely stopped the latest lightening strike.
There are TWO things that everyone that lives in storm prone areas need to look into: (1) a whole house surge protector and (2) a large natural gas powered generator that can carry you entire house load. They cost a few bucks, but it sure is fun to be the only house in the neighborhood with power when an ice storm or hurricane passes through the area. I make sure to turn on the front porch light just to taunt the neighbors!! 😛
