Gurus and such,

I am using AutoCAD 2014- vanilla (not civil 3D)

When I want to copy or move something, I select it and then head toward where I want it to end up. If I get close to some other object, such as the end of a line, or something, I get green orthogonal lines emanating from the end of the line, and a small dialog box, like this:

Endpoint: <E, Endpoint: <N

I assume I have some toggle on that I don't want or I have one of the selection options incorrect.

I don't want to see this critter.

How do I get rid of it?

Many thanx,

Geezer

F# key or the command "OS" and hit the clear all button.

I think it's called "flyover, object snapping". At least that is what IntelliCAD refers to it as. It never seems to "snap" to what I want either.
Another pain in the butt is "orthagonal snap". It throws a line in one of 4 directions (up, down, left and right). Have you had that one?

I think maybe that on the fly you can shift-rightclick and bring up the o-snaps and tell them which one you want, including none.

Cheers,
Henry
