I was poking around looking into how to make user friendly PDF for Project starting... (work orders, with pulldown menus.... etc) and wasn't successfully finding what I had in mind.

So, does anyone have a good source for learning how to MAKE an interactive PDF, or possible have one that they would be willing to share as an example?

I would start by creating the template for my document in Word or Excel, then converting it to a PDF. Once you have a PDF, you can use the Forms tools to convert it to an interactive form. When you create or edit the form it will automatically create form fields for anything that looks like it should be one; empty boxes, check boxes, empty lines, etc. The best way I found to create a dropdown list was to delete the simple form field that was created automatically and then use the Add New Field command to reinsert it as a dropdown field. Then go to All Properties and add the list items you wish to have. You can also specify what type of data is valid for a field, like numbers or dates. It's pretty awesome once you get the hang of it.

By the way, you may want to consider protecting it once you get it done. The last thing I want to have happen is someone else making unwanted edits to my document.

If you use Microsoft Access, I think they have a template for something like that. Or maybe smartsheet.com

I have our work order agreement in both word and pdf. I probably should've done drop done menus. I'm interested to follow this
