Hi, Does anyone know how to Move Rotate or Copy linework in Magnet Field. I can easily do this in SurvCE and am stumped in Magnet.
Ok so i've just discovered Transform, Translate (and Rotate) to at least Move points which moves the lines with them, fairly good except why not just say Move, anyway the three stages are very separate, no retention of highlighting as you progress your choices. So that leaves Copy?

If I had a quarter for every time the guys said this to me, I would have a new car.
My answer is basically, "You aren't in Carlson anymore, Dorthy."

Yes, I know how. Depending?ÿ upon a few things you can?ÿ translate, rotate and scale linework in Magnet.
Did you import the line work?
What version of Magnet?
Thanks for that, you managed to get a big smile out of me. I'm not sure if its good news or bad, personally I feel as if i'm in Munchkin town walking on that spirally bit of the Yellow Brick Road, except its allot more spirally than in the movie, I want to be back in Kansas.
I'm just testing my software with a scenario or two I can recall from having to perform on site. Apart from the unresolved copy I can live with the Translate and Rotate, I hope you got my point about the highlighting (difficult to explain). At the end of building up my selection choices I would wish to see what i'm proposing to do before I execute.
I made the linework from the points on the Logger and i'm on Version 6.0.
Not sure why you want to copy points in your survey controller. But this can be done by exporting points to TXT, and importing it back into the same job file. You will be prompted to overwrite or rename the points.
Since you created linework from points, then by translating the points, the linework will also move. If you import linework as background, you can translate, rotate and scale the entire background drawing separately. Much like an Xreference file.
Thanks Lee. On reflection Copy would be used much less than Move but I can distinctly remember using it for something. Every so often either due to a lack of my own planning and foresight! or some design change. (the former most likely!) , a certain amount of site CAD needs doing.
I'll practice the techniques you mentioned in the new year.
I am wildly optimistic that with the feature in 'My Topcon' of being able to contact them directly to point out bugs and make suggestions, i'll soon have the software the way I want it!
