Does anyone offer training on the upgrade, migration and configuring Bentley Opensite Designer from Bentley Inroads?

Yes, they have a decent set of videos, but they assume the survey data already exists. I am looking for some assistance on migrating our feature style, cells..... and the importing of raw survey data in to process line work, place the cells. How do I get the data into the surface module and geometry module.

?ÿ

I can do all of this in Inroads, but not a clue how to do it in Opensite Desiger

?ÿ

I need to start figuring this stuff out.

We actually do most of our work in Civil3D,?ÿ most of our deliverables are Microstation/InRoads.?ÿ So far none of our clients are asking for openroads, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

I use both OpenRoads Designer along with the previous version Power InRoads SS10. OpenRoads is a completely new concept to design work that integrates 3d with 2d design. All data is integrated within the DGN, references files and Model views. It allows for a more seamless approach to design changes, where a change in the alignment will automatically update the surface, contours, profile, and sections.

Preference and Style files (XIN) are so different that it is better to start over. No true method to migrate these.?ÿ

@klsnbms Any luck in in finding the right video, book or training class? We're trying to move over to OpenSite Designer from Eagle Point on Microstation.

OpenSite is a smaller version of OpenRoads Designer. Going from Eagle Point in MS to OpenSite is a giant leap.?ÿ

@richard3261 yes, we have made headway. we should be switching over completely in the month or so. We had to completely rebuild all of our preferences and styles. We eventually found the Bentley learn videos that walks through the process.?ÿ

@klsnbms Yes it sucks having to start over. Basically re-write your features and preferences.?ÿ But worth it in the end. Very powerful software we utilized correctly. However I feel Bentley is much farther away from a user-friendly interface. You can't learn this without the videos or training.?ÿ

@leegreen I am having issues with cels not automatically populating for point features. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I am using client provided standards. Do you have any experience setting up cels (block) to automatically populate based off point coding?
