One of the reasons that DOT and the Corps addopted Mircostation was it's ability to handle LARGE files without a lot of expensive speacalized software. When I first started learning Microstation, I had a 5 Meg 3-D autocad file that I converted to Microstation. The resulting file was 0.9 megs and was very easy to work on on an 8 megahertz IBM AT (286) cmputer. The Autocad version took 30 minutes to load or regerate and a snap took close to a minute. If you want to learn Micostation you can do it but there has to be a want to. I have had several CADD technicians work for me that were always complaining that they needed Autocad and that Microstation couldn't do that. The truth was that they did not know how to do it in Microstation. They all just moved on. We have had several Insultants over the years try to provide us Microstion drawing file that were converted from Autocad. It didn't work and now one of the requirements to be elgible to do work for us is having Microstation and Inroads and tecfhnicians trained to use it. About once a year they will try to slip something by that has been converted. When I catch it, I just wad the job back up and tell them to fix it. The bosses are usually pretty upset with their people for trying to slip one by on us.
Once you learn how to do the very basics in Microstation, zoom, pan, change level, change color, place line, just set a goal of learning 2 or 3 new commands each day and pretty soon you will know how to make it walk talk and cook breakfast. Just think about how many commands you use in your current CADD program. There are lots of good training videos online that can help and you can do some inperson taining if necessary. A good resource for training I have found is http://leegreen.com/ .

Um....I don't think so. Where did you hear that one?

Yeah, unfortunately we went through a big server change and bye bye, legacy Eagle Point. 🙁

We have one MS pc (Win7Pro) that still has EP on it. It is fixing to be retired. Apparently EP doesn't play well with Win10...but the guru is still working on it.

It works OK on my Win 10.

Interesting. Do you have the MS on each machine or a central network drive?
Missing EP - The only thing I can figure is perhaps there was a purpose for the spinning pyramid - hypnotism while subliminal messages were slipped in between the monitor refresh rate? That would explain the A thru Z updates (new subliminal messages).
LADD can you enlighten us now that you no longer work for the company?...Is there any truth to this?

Software is on local machine, license is on server.

Is the license server in house or hosted by Bentley?
EDIT:
Just to explain my question. Bentley licenses a number of seats to be used at one time. Software can be installed on many more machines. A large organization can host their own license server that reports usage to Bentley on a regular basis. The educational license I helped manage had 30 seats and software was installed in several computer labs. Total installs approached 100 computers.
Also allowed to give free software to students for home use. The home use licenses were hosted by a Bentley server. Smaller organizations, no in house server, usually use the Bentley server option.

Dallas,
I'm not the IT guy, so I asked him, what he said is that it's hosted locally and calls home once a month to Bentley. We have five licenses and every once in a while the boss gets an email saying we had more than five open at once.

Same setup the college used. Those of us that managed the site license could review usage records at the Bentley online support site. The usage level may have Bentley "suggest" the number of seats be increased when license renewal time approaches.

FYI - If you just open one drawing to take a look at it for a couple of minutes, the licensing software counts that as one days use of a seat...download Bentley View so you can look at your own files for free o.O
