I have been living in the world of Trimble for the last 8 years but find myself back in Leica Land. One thing that I usually do on my surveys is report Combined Scale Factor to 8 places. Unfortunately, our Leica calculates to 12 places. Is there a way to limit the software to 8 spaces on its CSF so our coordinates are coming out identical? Not a huge difference, but a PITA when you coords don't match exactly.

O&G work was all done on grid and when I worked for Schumann Engineering, the City of Midland preferred plat submittals on grid, so I really haven't had to deal with converting back and forth since 2008.

You will probably need to explain what a CSF is used for to the coordinates.?ÿ

In Trimble there is an option to apply a scale to local coordinates which you pick yourself so you can make it any length you wish.?ÿ

I've always only used a scale 6 places or less cause after that it's irrelevant to the distances.?ÿ

The DOT wants 9 places so I would use my typical 6 place factor and add 0's. 1.000235 becomes 1.000235000, maybe you can do that to the Leica scales.?ÿ

A 12 place CSF changes at any coordinate with a 0.00002' elevation change. A pointless number until it's used to multiply/divide large numbers.?ÿ
