I would like to measure sets of angles/distances to a series of targets from multiple instrument setups. I'm using Leica Captivate in the field and StarNet for adjustment in the office.

In the Sets of Angles app, when I complete the observations it wants me to assign a prefix or suffix to the point names. I cannot reuse the same prefix or suffix, which means my points receive different names from one instrument setup to the next. In StarNet, I can edit the point names to be the same, but I would prefer them to be identified correctly coming out of Captivate. FWIW, I don't care that the data be adjusted in Captivate in the field, as I will adjust in the office.

Is there something I'm missing to tell Captivate I have observed the same point? or would a different Captivate app be better suited? Thanks.

If I understand your issue correctly, one way you can handle the multi point id at the same point is with the StarNet alias command.?ÿ For example when you measure from INST1 to TGT1 you should be able to name it TGT1+A and when you measure from INST2 to TGT1 name it TGT1+B.?ÿ When it is adjusted in StarNet it should develop the adjusted point as TGT1.?ÿ You would need to add an inline option in StarNet like so...

.ALIAS SUFFIX +A +B +C +D +E +F +G +H #---StarNet V7 and above Only! (case sensitive)

Note that you can use alias prefix too.

Maybe this will address your issue?

Best regards,

Terry

You do not have to create the points, just skip the step.?ÿ All of the raw data and sets results are stored with the original point numbers once you exit the application.
