Refer to the image above for my issue. Anyhow, I've noticed here lately that my robot won't "unlock" from tracking the prism when I hit the lock button (shown crudely circled in red above). I have to go hit the tripod button in the lower right corner and press "standby" in order for the robot to effectively lose lock on the prism. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Setting issue perhaps?!

I don't use a Topcon robot, but I've never had the described problem with Leica or GeoMax robots. I occasionally get sort of the opposite problem, though: the data collector shows the gun locked, but it won't follow the prism. The only way I've been able to solve that one is to reboot the robot.

I rebooted the DC today before starting & it worked good right up until the last few shots & then it did it again.

Also something else I noticed, when it was working, you would click on that icon and immediately it would change over to the search icon (pair of binoculars). Once it started acting up, it would sit there w/the hourglass for a few seconds, then change over. In the inst. status bar (locked, searching, standby etc.) it would go from "locked" to "communication lost" to "standby". Tried it later in the day communicating w/only the RC-II unit and it worked flawlessly.
