Just got the new Trimble Business Center, but I can't seem to install it on my Window 7 64 bit laptop. The files install, but after awhile the computer freezes up and nothing happens. Any ideas?
i had the same problem download earlier version 3.8 only one that worked on my computer.
I had to go back to 3.6 to get it to install. Then I updated it using the TBC routine and it seems to be working. I'm not sure how to check which version I have installed yet though. I've just got the basic TBC and from first glance it doesn't look to me like it does much.
That Trimble Business Center screwed my computer up and I had to restore the settings. I finally got an older version 3.6 to install, but so far I haven't had any luck upgrading to a newer version. It gets to the installation phase and hangs up about midway and screws my computer up. I would at least like to get to the version that interfaces with Google Earth.
When you open TBC, the splash screen displays the current version.
Hi Skeeter1996, do you have the initial installation disk? I recently got a new computer and had to install from the disk and then do the upgrades. One step at a time and sometimes, I have had to re-boot the machine after each upgrade in order for it to work right. Also, make sure you know how far you can upgrade without going over what your Hasp dongle will allow. You might talk to your dealer and have them check to see what version you can go up to before you install the next upgrade. My current dongle is a few steps below the most current version of TBC but it does everything I need it to do right now. We may be able to upgrade at the end of the fiscal year if we have enough $ left over for other needs. Hope this helps, good luck, have a good weekend, Jerry.
There are no discs, its all downloaded from the Trimble Site. I just got it yesterday, so I assume I'm licensed for the latest copy. So far none of the versions I have successfully installed have required the dongle. When does the program demand it?
You do not need the Hasp dongle in place on the computer until you are about to start the program. The dongle has the license information on it and the capabilities of the program are then allowed. If I start the program without the dongle in place, I cannot do the most basic thing like inverse between two points. When you did the initial install, did you enter the license information at some point or in any way provide validation information? I had lots of trouble getting my last 2 computers to load the program, I had to have IT get me a new fresh computer, it would not load on my laptop or desktop. Make sure you have Administrator permissions. You may need your dealer to help with this one. Our dealer is very helpful and will come by if needed. Good luck, Jerry.

The issue is with the installation of Windows Mobile Device Centre. Uncheck it during the install process and it'll install without issues. I've seen this on several machines with several different operating systems. Uninstall everything and start from scratch to save yourself the headaches...
The current version is 3.82 and it should install with no problem on Win7 64 bit if you use the full installation file. You probably do need administrative privileges because it probably needs to make changes to your system. Trimble also has a cleanup utility on the TBC download site that's useful for getting old, unneeded Trimble stuff that can cause problems off of your machine.
What are the computer requirements for successfully installing and running TBC?
Trimble heard my complaints and has a new version of Trimble Business Center 3.90. I downloaded it and it installed no problem.
