In the home screen go to edit, then backup, and change the backup time to 2 hours
ive been using my total station with magnet to cary out some internal building surveys, when imputing tape measures into magnet it would be good to be able to undo a measurement instead of having to start over again if you do something wrong.
Lee - I haven't used the RTK in a while but when I did this morning I remembered something.
When you go to re-occupy a RTK point for redundancy, you have to enter the former point number if you want it to be used in a weighted average.
I really like this option but when you put the old point number in it does not automatically change the description to match the original description for that point.
What it does is append a description onto another one so what results is something along the lines of TP-MAG,TP-TEMP and you are not sure which is correct.
Not a big deal but it gets everyone of our crews once in a while and you wind up with 2-3 descriptions rather than one for the same point.
Thanks
I'd love for there to be a way to translate or rotate linework imported from drawings like you can in Carlson SurvCE.

Lee have most or all of these issues been resolved with Magnet? How does the software perform now 3 years later?
Totalsurv,
Yes, it has taken a while, but all issues stated above have been addressed. Biggest improvements came with the Windows PC tablets.
To answer Arctan(x), no Magnet Field can't manipulate a CAD file. Only points can be translated and rotated.

Excellent
One improvement to this program would be the ability to edit the codes, descriptions, etc. of multiple points at once.?ÿ In SurveyPro I used to be able to select multiple points that were shot with the wrong description and correct them all at once.?ÿ I don't see that option in Magnet - when I select multiple points the "Edit" box greys out.?ÿ Changing the code one point at a time, can eat up a lot of field time.
Also, it would be nice to be able to renumber a full sequence of points.?ÿ I know I can edit the point number one-by-one, but when you have a guy who doesn't pay attention to the point number and shoots 50 points, it takes a lot of time to renumber them.
That can be done in Magnet Office tools. In Magnet Field you can prism constant in raw data. Can SurveyPro?
I'm not sure about changing the prism constant in SurveyPro - never had to do it as we just had one prism we used with our total station.?ÿ I know?ÿ it wouldn't change the shot elevation by?ÿsimply?ÿediting the instrument or rod height?ÿin the raw data - another great feature in Magnet.?ÿ There are A LOT of thing I can do in Magnet that I couldn't do in SurveyPro, one of them being the renumbering of points.?ÿ That is why when I find?ÿsomething that I could do in SurveyPro (such as?ÿediting the?ÿdescription of?ÿmultiple?ÿpoints at once)?ÿand not do in Magnet it takes me a bit by surprise.
As another example, just yesterday, I thought I had recently taken static files at?ÿa couple?ÿbase points, but there was no file on the SD card, so I went to look in the raw data to see if I just forgot to select the correct instrument setting.?ÿ The SurveyPro TDS raw file would show me that a file was started and tell?ÿme the name of the file?ÿand?ÿstart time.?ÿ I couldn't find that ANYWHERE in Magnet.?ÿ After searching for solutions here, I found?ÿa post (I think it was yours)?ÿsaying that it doesn't store that info, which would be nice to have a more robust raw file?ÿor be able to control what is recorded.
