I have Topcon Tools, and run it on my XP desktop, and my Vista laptop. I had just a little bit of trouble getting the proper drivers installed on them, but finally did, and now I don't have to have the usb key installed to run the program on either machine.
The desktop is being taken out of service except as a "server" for sharing my plotter.
I recently bought a Dell laptop with Windows 8.1, 64 bit operating system. It is growing on me, but I have not used it very much in production yet. I am slowly getting my programs installed on it. I cannot get the drivers installed for the HASP USB key.
I can go to device manager, and see my Sentinel Pro USB key for my Foresight DXM software. The HASP USB key only shows up as a USB Thumb Drive.
I need some help. I have worked on trying to get this driver installed for probably at least 8 hours or so over the past few days.
I really need to get this working for my post processing tasks. I have downloaded numerous different drivers from the Sentinel website. I have had a hard time getting the command line drivers to work correctly. I am pretty sure that is my lack of knowledge of the proper way to execute the command line switches. The GUI installers all say that they have installed correctly, but Topcon Tools does not see the USB key.
Thank you in advance for any advice that you may be able to offer.
Have a great day.
Jimmy
I run Topcon Tools on a 64 bit win 7 machine. We just upgraded from XP. Two things come to mind.
The key for 32 bit will not work on the 64 bit version. You should also be sure you are using the correct shortcut. If you have a Topcon Tools key don't open Topcon office...
Good luck
You may need to install a "virtual XP" add-on from Microsoft. It will allow you to run a "virtual" XP operating system and XP programs on a Win7(in my case)64bit machine side by side with Win7. Or call Topcon to update your key/software.
Thanks for the info guys.
I will check with the dealer and see what is available.
