Blue Marble Geographics bought Global Mapper.

Someone please assure me that it will not go the route of many of the technologies that collapse or get less useful when they are bought out.

Global Mapper is an excellent program, one of the best values in software, plus great support. I hope this doesn't ruin it. I am afraid that they will raise the price significantly.

John
I'm with you on that comment. I have never received better support from any provider. I have sent questions late Sunday evening assuming I would get a reply sometime Monday but to my surprise Mike would answer right away.
I know of one big survey company that could learn from Mike's example.

Damn. I really like Global Mapper and it's handy as HELL! It's part of my bread and butter when making GIS dwg's for a county. Why do good things have to change? First Trimble, now Global Mapper.

I can think of a lot of them that got ruined.

In my opinion Mark Deal's forum even got messed up.

My fingers are crossed on the Global Mapper thing. Global Mapper was simple to learn, intuitive, reasonably priced, well supported, and extremely useful. Damn.
