I have a bad habit of letting jobs pile up on my JettXL. When I finally sit down to clean them up, I have to use SMI on JettXL to pick through and delete the individual job files. Tedious.
I would like to do this on my pc, but I can't find the files on the JettXL. I can see the directory trees, but no job files. I've tried to search for them using the windows search with no luck.
Any help appreciated,
Happy New Year,
JB

Do you have a Compact Flash card in the unit? It seems to me the easiest way by far is to move everything to the CF card, put the card in a reader connected to your PC, and delete away from there.

Thanks for your thoughts.
I don't believe there is a CF in there. But even if there were, I would have to be able to find the files in order to move them to it. Right now the way things work is that you have a JOB file in SMI. When you are ready to get the data from the JOB file onto your PC you transfer from the JOB file to a RAW and an ASCII file. Those I can see and move as you would any other file. It's the JOB file I'm after.
Thanks again,
JB

You MIGHT want to try this...

from SMI version 8 manual:

Use DELETE key and then the CARD softkey

Allows you to delete card data. The display prompts you to confirm that you wish to erase the contents of port 2, which is actually the entire contents of the current storage file. All jobs and project data in this storage file will be deleted. You are prompted to select to confirm or to cancel the deletion.

Nope, looked for hidden files every way I could think of. When the DC is connected to the PC via cable, I have full access to it as if it were another drive, so it seems like I should be able to at least find them.

Do you know what file extension they have? I see .crd, .dxf, .not, .rw5, and .qly files on mine. Are any of those (like maybe .qly or .not) the "project" files?
