I'm currently performing a level circuit using Topcon Magnet v. 4.3.3 and need to export a Level Loop Report as a deliverable to the client.?ÿ I cannot find ANYWHERE how to do this.?ÿ I know it's classified as TS Raw Data, but when I export the Topcon Custom TS.txt file it says it exports 103 objects, but the file is empty.?ÿ How can I do this?
Thanks!
Best to open the .mjf file in Magnet Office Tools. Some members on here have created excel spreads from the raw data.

Thanks for the response, Lee.
So in order to really to anything with the level circuit data, I need to use Magnet Office Tools??ÿ I never liked that I had to use the desktop software to be able to export the level circuit in SurveyPro using Foresight (especially since a sideshot would cause major errors in the elevations).?ÿ But at least I could work with the .raw file (such as toss an incorrect rod reading or note out lines if for some reason we had to reshoot a backsight).?ÿ I was hoping Magnet (which is by far a better program) would have increased the functionality, but I have not been impressed with the level circuit programming, which feels like a legacy add-on.
Thanks for the offer to help.?ÿ I may be contacting you.
Magnet Office Tools is very powerful, while very easy to use. You can view and edit all raw data.
If you are handy with programming and Microsoft Access, then you can do it yourself, as the raw data file is a Microsoft Access database.
Unfortunately I don't have Access (we used to on an old computer, but we don't use it often enough).?ÿ I guess I'll subscribe to Magnet Tools.
Continuing to show my ignorance with Magnet Field and the Digital Level routine, is there a way to close a loop and adjust it in Field.?ÿ We completed a loop today and when I went to put it in the point number of the benchmark I closed on, it asked me if I wanted to update the elevation.?ÿ I chose "No" then it proceeded to give me the option of renaming the point or storing it as a check point.?ÿ I wasn't sure if storing it as a check point would do the trick, so I just renamed it to the point number of the benchmark and added "-LC" for "loop close" at the end.?ÿ But then I needed to start a new loop from a point in my closed loop.?ÿ Without being able to close the loop, I couldn't adjust that point based on the misclosure, so I was stuck.?ÿ The lack of help in "Help" on this subject makes it difficult to figure it out.?ÿ ??ÿ

Thank you, Lee.?ÿ I've got the trial code for Magnet Tools and am able to do what I need to with the level circuit, short of viewing my raw data.?ÿ I noticed Magnet Office has a feature to view raw data, but it only shows the first 7 lines after I import the .mjf file - maybe because it's just in demo mode?
One thing that bothers me is that when do a QC audit on my DL data, it sums the backsight and foresight for sighting distance.?ÿ So my backsights meet the criteria for 2nd order, 1st class, but is shows my foresights do not (e.g. BS is 150' & FS is 151', total is 231' > 196' max).?ÿ In all the years I've been surveying, the sighting distance is from instrument to rod, not the sum of BS + FS.?ÿ Is this just software error, or did I learn something wrong?
sighting distance spec is just to each rod (BS, FS), not the sum of the two.?ÿ
You need to
1) keep each sight under the spec (70 m for 2-II, 60 m for 2-I)
2) make sure the FS distance and BS distance are within 10 m for 2-II and 5 m for 2-I
3) make sure cumulative unbalance is under 10 m (i.e. total FS - total BS)
Aaron,
It sounds like you are looking at the default setup and/or reports from Magnet Tools.
You can customize these fields to your own preference.
In demo mode, you can have only 5 points. Request a 30 day full working evaluation?ÿlicense from your?ÿTopcon dealer.
