In the past I have used Earth Point on numerous occasions to sent points that were state plane to Google Earth. Now it doesn't work. Google Earth (free version) has updated since the last time I used Earth Point, I have no idea if that is the problem.

I have reinstalled Google Earth, I have deleted it and installed an older version, I have double clicked a kml file that I had to see if it opened Google Earth and nothing so far has worked right.

Any ideas?

When installing Google earth, it wants you to download Chrome, would that make a difference?
Do they want you to use the Pro version?

I tried turning off the firewall with no luck.

Our "communal" computer at the office ran afoul with the same malady after someone installed Google Chrome. It's actually the plotter spooler drive and the field hands use it for email.

I'm sorry I don't have a fix to give you, but I will tell you how I handle it.

Earth Point gives you an option to open or save the .kml file. Save it. Open Google Earth. Click the Menu Bar "File" then "Open"..then go find the file you just saved. It opens it just fine.

I really screwed with it one day until I was blue in the face. I've settled for the procedure I described. It works. A lot more "clickety-clicks"...but it works.

Thanks Paden,

Your procedure worked. I think I have it figured out that I need version 7.1.1.1888 or 1871 for it to work. The new version I deleted is 7.1.2.2041 and I currently have 7.0.3.8542 or it has nothing to do with the version and I'm barking up the wrong tree.

It will have to wait for another day. Got other stuff to do.

The printer spooling may be the cause of my current problem in that Google Earth will only print B/W images.

woe is me, when will computers ever get along
