I am currently trying to download a data collection job off my TSC-2 into Carlson 2006. For some reason the TSC-2 is only downloading about 25% of the points, does anyone know why? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with your exact hardware. I do remember a number of different hardwares (and softwares) that can hiccup if the data points aren't sequential.

Do you have a point number in there that is out of place, or maybe a 'scrambled' line in the data that you can edit? Or maybe a field code that Carlson doesn't 'like' ?

Try using Data Transfer Utility to download the job to a folder on your hard drive. You can configure the Survey Data Card option to point to any folder location.

If during the download you get an error that pops up the Retry/Ignore/Cancel dialog buttons, select 'Ignore'.

The cause may be a missing 'end of file' marker in the raw job file. This can happen when the receiver or total staion connection to the TSC2 is terminated abruptly, ie data cable removed or power failure during the survey.

You might verify there is not an "un-named" point or any alphanumeric points. I have seen that disrupt point transfer

Strange, I just found out that it isn't the data collector. What happened is that I downloaded the file onto my hard drive but it will read into Carlson software only up to point 277 even though the file on my hard drive shows about 535 points. So I deleted points 278 and 277 on my hard drive file but than it only would download up to points 276. What do you guys think what's going on? Any more suggestions?

I finally figured it out. I split the file in two and it worked. Thanks for your interest. Pushed the panic button too soon.
