Is there a way to convert shp file to a shx file?

I accidently requested a shp file instead of a shx file. I tried copying the file using the old DOS commands, but that did not seem to work.

Thanks,
Jimmy

try compile, going entirely from memory only, check your help file.

I think what I have is a shx file with a shp extension.

I will request a new file tomorrow if I cannot get this converted.

If you think the file is correct but with the wrong extension, open windows explorer and edit the extension. If it won't show the extension you might have to tweak the view settings (Organize, Folder and search options, switch to View tab, uncheck box beside Hide extensions for known file types).

It all depends, if the use is for 'GIS' or 'ACAD".

Thanks. Chris was able to "compile" the file for me. The compile command does not work in my version of Carlson.
