I have it installed on 2015 vanilla AutoCad, but so far have only used it to save drawing down to LDD 2008. I am still in the process of learning Carlson and have not got used to the point blocks and nodes set at an elevation instead of zero like I normally use in LDD.

I just switched from Carlson 2013 on vanilla AutoCAD 2013 to Carlson 2015 on vanilla AutoCAD 2015 at the beginning of the year. So far I've not found any problems. In fact, Carlson's support for annotative text and AutoCAD's ability to import pdfs as underlays has been worth the price of admission.

There is a setting for that. In fact, there is a setting for that in LDD.

There's a switch under the draw points dialog that allows you to insert the points and nodes at zero.

Unchecking this box will bring them in at zero. Typically I insert them at zero, but for topos I find that it works better if they're at their true elevation.

Yes, I bought Acad at the end of last year, had the Civil Suite for a while, been using it since then. Before that I used the embedded version of Survey, but missed some of the commands. Intellicad wasn't up to par at that time, but I hear it's getting better. Carlson / Autocad is working fine for me, unremarkable/ no complaints.

I would go with the OEM version but I have a bunch of home grown lisp routines that I like to use. i do not think they will not work with OEM if I am not mistaken.

yes, sir, you are correct about lisp if it hasn't changed very recently.
Also, correction, I said I got Acad end of last year, should have been year before last, had it a little over a year.

I have it with the OEM engine and the only thing I don't like is that it occasionally crashes with mtext open. I can save it but I have to crank the program back up.

We have been using Carlson 2015 on Autocad map 3d 2015 for a couple weeks. Switched from Carlson/Autocad 2012. Smooth transition and not much lost productivity. Carlson is much more stable. Used to crash 4-8 times a day. In all fairness, my computer was probably the issue and not the software. No complaints...

Me. "What's the difference?"
T.C. Carroll "It's the difference between right and wrong!"

I can only remember a couple times in the last 5 years or so that Carlson has actually crashed.

The computer that I inherited when I went to work there was nearly 10 yrs old. It began crashing anytime I worked with coordinates using the CG commands (die hard C&G user). Later it crashed if I didn't hold my mouth right...
