I import the a DXF file containing the proposed items into Carlson SurvPC to use as a reference when I am staking out. There have been times when I zoom in on a point that I am about to stake and see that the point is not on top of the line that I am staking out. I inverse between the point # and the linework and it gives me a distance of 0.00' so I know that the point is in the correct location, however it has confused me and some of my co-workers and made us question the comps.
Does anyone know how to refresh / regenerate the linework in SurvPC / SurvCE to make the lines match the points location?
I use Carlson cad in office and Trimble equipment in the field. I think what you are seeing is this. Rounding. So before I wblock out what linework I want out of any cad I set it to 4 to 5 decimals because usually it is to two so the labeling works. The points are usually at 3 to 4. Txt file or csv or crd in your case. They are way out the points. The dxf is rounded to a couple decimal places. To test this simply Ck to make sure before exporting the dxf it has the same significant digits as your points. Then I bet it looks much better. I bet that is all it is. Significant figures and rounding.
What you are most likely seeing is points along a curve not on the linework. It a "regen" issue. Think of Autocad, segmented lines defining the circle at a low resolution.
