Does anyone know how to handle labeling multiple trunk trees using Carlson Survey 2016? It has the built-in tree survey function hard coded in where you can enter the tree code, trunk diameter, drip radius and tag number all separated by spaces, but it wants a single number for the trunk diameter. Has anyone delt with this?

I had an arborist tell me they measure the tree size at 4' from the ground and count each trunk as an individual tree in cases of multiple trunks. How ever i must admit i still label double, triple and so on.

I use the FTF tree function in carlson. No multi tree quick codes, I use the nearest code and put a note that it's a double, triple, etc as suggested above. It's pretty easy in carlson to just copy the symbol or make a note that it's a cluster. Another option is to make a special cluster symbol and add a code.

For a double I put 2 little tree logos slightly overlapping. 3 for triple. 4 for quad.

Then I label each tree.

Ex. 12"Tree

Or

Twin
12,8"

Or

Triple
8,8,6"
