I am demoing Carlson Survey 2015 OEM with the AutoCad 2013 engine. I have what appears to be a Civil3D drawing that I need some information from. It's the weekend, and I am looking at getting information ready for some layout on Monday.
I tried downloading the object enablers for both 2015 and 2013. and when I run the installer programs, it doesn;t find a target program for the enablers. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy
Send it to me and I will try to convert for you. stephen at ward land surveying dot com
Take a look at this knowledge base topic from Carlson. It looks like the embedded/OEM product does work with the object enablers. Probably just a case of getting the correct one for your engine version. I would think that you'd want the object enablers for AutoCAD 2013 and be sure that it is for the correct bit version 32 or 64.
Thanks Stephen. Opened up like a champ. Hopefully Ladd or cptdent will have a tip or two.
Stephen has it correct. For versions of Carlson Survey OEM that can make direct use of the AutoCAD 2013 DWG format (i.e. versions that use the 32-bit AutoCAD 2013 OEM engine), you'll want to download and install the 32-bit AutoCAD Civil 2013 Object Enabler:
AutoCAD Civil 2013 Object Enabler | AutoCAD Map 3D | Autodesk Knowledge Network
Please be aware DWG files may contain newer versions of objects that this particular Object Enabler may not recognize. In these types of situations, you might ask the author of your DWG file to send the pertinent data in a LandXML format or use the Export to AutoCAD functionality.
Thanks guys. I will try this out tomorrow.
It's looking for ACAD Civil 3-D, is there one for Carlson?

Carlson Software does not produce proprietary ARX objects in DWG files so recipients of Carlson-generated drawings do not need any special object enablers... simply a DWG viewer/editor. If you've downloaded and are attempting to install the correct C3D Object Enabler based on your underlying OEM engine, the OEM installer should detect and optionally allow you to select which OEM engine(s) should be configured to make use of the Enabler technology:
I hope this information helps.
hmmmm, this is what I get......
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks Ladd!
