Another question which I'm sure has a simple answer... I'm used to the old C&G run over Auto CAD and am learning Carlson Survey 12 w/ ICAD. In the past I could click on any entity and have all of the properties pop-up in a properties dialog box on the side of the screen for quick viewing. Does anyone know how to get a live properties dialog box up on the screen with the CS12 w/ ICAD?

Try double clicking the entity.

First type "properties" at the command line.

Then 'dock' the dialog box to one side of the screen.

Then select your item & enjoy its properties!

Right click on the entity and select properties

i know what you mean

i opened ICAD a couple times now and i see your issue

i too enjoy CAD for having the properties window docked to the side of the screen, then you can select the object and see all those properties. then hit esc and it clears and you go about your merry way. this is a similar model as the visual basic program, and i'd assume there are a few more programs out there with this option.

it does not appear that icad has this feature. perhaps they can add it if you e-mail them, they will always work to make the customer happy.

IntelliCAD 6.6 did not offer this feature but IntelliCAD 7.x and later offers the ability to have a docked Properties dialog box (shown below). It also offers a re-sizeable and "modeless" Layer Control dialog box among dozens (dare I say hundreds) of improvements.
