I was talking to my local Carlson rep the other day while I was trying out Carlson Survey. He gave me a tip about what to do when pulling a DTM and, although I wrote it down, I can't find it anywhere! How do you establish a boundary on your DTM? I drew a Pline around it but it is still pulling across the line. Thought someone here might know before I shot him an email tomorrow.

BTW. I have used Eagle Point, AutoCAD LDD, Civil 3D, Softdesk, etc. and I LOVE Carlson. Just still figuring out some of the different ways to do things.

You may create both an inclusion boundary pline and an exlcusion. You need to expand your command line window so that you can see about 3 lines at a time. Whne you run the routine you will see that you are asked to select each of these type of boundaries along with mass points and break lines... cheers

I think the command you're looking for is SHRINKWRAP. It's found under the DRAW menu.

Thanks so much for the replies. Shrinkwrap was the trick I was looking for. I could not get the boundary thing to work very well; but I still like Carlson a lot. I think I am going to try out the Intellicad version next.
