Hello All,

We are running Carlson over Map 3d and it works well.

We are considering upping a seat or two to Civil 3d and I was curious how well Carlson and Civil play with each other.

Thanks,
Thadd

I've been using it for years. Actually... let me say that I quit paying AutoCAD their outlandish fee for subscription in 2010 and purchased Carlson for the last 4 years with their affordable Maintenance Plan and using it with C3D 2010. Have no issues with Carlson. CAD seems to crash maybe once a day the most and sometime not for days. Carlson does everything I need and really do not use anything in C3D but the CAD engine. Only thing is linking of raster images (which MAP does). Maybe more than I think, but I can't think of anything else.

Carlson uses the CAD engine from Civil3d. If you have civil3d files sent to you, then it's a bonus to be able to open Civil3d native and export the information you need to work in a Carlson (simple Autocad object) environment. I've had no issues working this way, currently running Carlson 2014 with Civil3D 2013.
