From the improvements list:
CRDB – New coordinate file format built on SQLite database for better performance than MDB.
Does anyone have additional information on this new 2013 format?

This is all I could find in the Carlson 2013 manual: "The Carlson coordinate database
(.CRDB) is based on SQLite and supports point numbers and descriptions up to 255 characters"

Thanks for the info. That should take care of the message "point too long/skip or cancel" when point numbers with more than 9 digits are imported.
