I've inherited an AutoCad drawing. It was created in LDD, 2011 I believe, then it was saved back so I could open it in Carson 2006. It has an image in it, a company logo, and I can't select it. I moved the border so now it is in the wrong place. Imageframes is turned on. The entire drawing including the border is in modelspace. Any ideas?
Spitballing here - any chance the image is on a locked layer?
No, that's not it.
Might have been inserted as an OLE object. I used to insert Word files of descriptions or certifications that way and sometimes they just get orphaned. You could try setting oleframe to 1 or 2 and see if that makes a difference.
toggle imageframe on/off ?
command line type:
imageframe
respond w. ON

This ^^^^
None of the above worked. I finally wblocked all the entities in the drawing and used that as my drawing. Since I was unable to select the image, it didn't survive the trip. I guess this will be one for the ages.
It could also be a proxy object. I used to run Land Development Desktop and any LDD objects such as contours or points show up as proxy objects when opened in other versions of AutoCAD. With proxy objects you can see them but they lack their original functionality. You should see warnings/messages when you initially open the drawing that will tell you which program created the objects. Once you know what created them you can download an object enabler to make them functional.
