VS you are a scholar
VS's solution is the one that worked !!
I also tried the audit, it found no errors.
In fact all here are scholars. I appreciate everyones help.
I also agree with Wayne's sentiment.
In the back of my mind I am leaning toward iCAD inside of Carlson, BUT 16 years of dwg hardwire in my brain is something to consider.
George Orwell was right.

Unfortunately, the only way to completely remove ARX-objects from a drawing and without using an Autodesk product (at least the only way I'm comfortable with and that I know works) is to save the DWG down to the R12 format from circa 1995. This is/was the last release of AutoCAD that did not offer the ARX environment. The problem is that SaveAs R12 is not available in current Autodesk products (even with the often-touted Autodesk DWG TrueView).
I believe C3D offers a "SaveAs DWG" type of operation which is supposed to revert entities into native entity types (e.g. text, polylines, etc) but I've never validated if the source objects are left intact. I suppose the C3D user could explode his/her objects prior to SaveAs but I consider this dangerous for the unpracticed hand.
For those without the absolute latest release of C3D and who opt to use IntelliCAD, there is a SaveAs R12 DWG option. ARX objects that are contained within the DWG would get "nuked" from the R12 DWG. This would help in situations where the ARX objects are intermixed with other desirable DWG entities. FWIW, issuing a SaveAs to R13 or later will leave the ARX objects in the DWG for the next down-stream user.
I agree, WBLOCK is the way to go.
I was given some Architectural DWG with whatever objects they use. They came in very distorted and I could do nothing with them. I went back to the PDF and just input the dimensions. Thank goodness it closed...
