I have a TSC2 and TDL 450 radio. I am trying to set the radio in the rover radio settings however it is not in my list, does anyone know how to add the radio configuration to the DC? Running Access, TSC2, R8. Thanks.

When Trimble decided to name their broadcast protocols after actual radio-modem models they planted the seeds for a perennial bumper crop of confusion. It probably seemed straightforward at first glance, but as new radio-modem models are introduced that still broadcast the old protocols the confusion and problems quickly appear.

To your question, at the rover you really do not care what the base radio modem is. All you need to know is what it "sounds" like, specifically the broadcast protocol the base is broadcasting and for which your rover needs to listen.

Assuming your TDL450 is broadcasting at the base and you are going to use the Trimble R8's internal radio at the rover -

Go to your TDL450 at the base and press the right-arrow key until you see the screens that show the "Data Protocol" and "Radio Link Rate". Those are the parameters you need to listen for, so use Access in your TSC2 to set your Trimble R8 rover receiver accordingly.

For example, if your equipment is all running on 12.5-kHz channel spacing, there is a good chance that "Data Protocol" on the TDL450 will be "TRIMMARK 3" and the "Radio Link Rate" will be "9600".

In that case you would set the "Trimble internal" radio in your Trimble R8 to listen for a "Base radio mode" of "TRIMMARK 3 at 9600 bps".

Hope this helps.

That's exactly what I was looking for, thank you for clearing up the confusion!

hello, i've got a question. im using R8s and r10. but i've tried to use a trimmark 3. now my problem is i can't connect to my trimmark radio using TSC3 timble access like when i click connect it wont show the page where you are going to select the frequency. on the trimmark 3 setup it is TTs 450 but on my R10 rover radio link it shows only for base radio trimtalk v1 9600 and 4800. anyone knows how to make this setup work.
