Some of you may have known Robert Asher, many years in the survey equipment sales business, most recently at FLT. I meet Robert a number of years ago when he worked at Intuicom.

Robert A Asher III
JULY 11, 1957 ƒ?? SEPTEMBER 1, 2021

Robert Andrew Asher, III, age 64, of Punta Gorda, Fl, passed away on the evening of September 1, 2021. Robert was born in July 1957 in San Antonio, Tx. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. Robert learned from his parents the importance of love, kindness and loyalty. He was a devoted follower of Christ and actively involved at Deep Creek Community Church. He was often known for saying, ƒ??Neverƒ??ever let anything get in the way of you and Jesus!ƒ? He shared and lived this truth through all of his days. Robert was a passionate audiophile and especially enjoyed rocking out to contemporary Christian music. Much to the delight of his children, he was always current with new technology and video gaming trends. He was blessed to have the opportunity to travel to many countries throughout the world and live in many beautiful places within the United States. Growing up in Texas, he became a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a night owl who didn't have much time for sleep, living each day to explore his child-like passions and always remaining a big kid at heart. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Asher; his parents, Robert and Rose Asher; his sister, Crystal Aguirre; his son, Robert Andrew Asher; his daughters and their spouses, Brittany and Michael Shattuck, and Courtney and Bradley James; the mother of his children, Rose Asher; his four grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Asher. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 1, at 2 p.m. at Deep Creek Community Church, 1500 Cooper Street, Punta Gorda, Fl 33950. If you would like to attend virtually, please log on to https://youtube.com/c/Deepcreekcc or

at the time of the service. Please wear your brightest colors and neons in memory of Robert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deep Creek Community Church at https://deepcreekcommunitychurch.com/ or the address above in memory of Robert Asher. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nationalcremation.com/locations/port-charlotte for the Asher family.

Never met Robert, he must have worked South Fl. My main contact was Dennis Abel for 30 years. Bought all my instruments from him.

Huge loss - and so young. Few know that Robert Asher was a part of the first in the world inception of inter-linked community Network Reference Stations that are so wide-spread today. I was experimenting on developing network real-time kinematic solutions in the early 90's. Diminished quality labor, theft, lost time referencing, loss of geodetic marks and benchmarks and other factors presented a challenge that had to be overcome. After many months of solar cover and exposure, radio modulation/formatting and radio equipment testing along with a desire to do more with less; I convinced my employer to invest about $5M chasing my dream of interconnected, service-area-wide real time solutions - a decision that ultimately paid huge dividends with distinct profit centers for people like Charlie Trimble and Hans Hess/Ken Mooyman.?ÿ After development, Hans Hess donated a Leica receiver and anechoic chamber antenna design and I enlisted/worked with Alex Cherchian (then of H&S Survey & Laser of Las Vegas) and Hans sent Robert Asher as an installation and RF Tech (then of Leica Geosystems US). The photo is of the three of us up on top of Mount Potosi (Elev 8500') with Vegas in the backdrop - a photo that made it on the cover of The Nevada Traverse (NV's premier professional surveyor publication). Rest in Peace dear friend; until then, there's plenty of space and interesting objects to measure out in the universe! -Timothy Wolf 10/2021
