Just heard on the radio.... Russell Johnson - Professor from Gilligan's Island died today. What a classic show!!!

I used to watch everyday after school before city league football practice.
Johnson was the last surviving male castaway from the TV series that ran from 1964 to 1967. Bob Denver (Gilligan) died in 2005; Alan Hale (the Skipper) died in 1990; and Jim Backus (Mr. Howell) died in 1989. Natalie Schafer (Mrs. Howell) died in 1991; Dawn Wells and Tina Louise (Mary Ann and Ginger) are the last surviving castmembers.

He was in a ton of TV shows but probably best remembered for being the group's manager on the Partridge Family. He was a regular(irregular) on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

Sad about Russell Johnson. I heard him interviewed on Seattle area radio a couple of times and he seemed like a down to earth guy. Such a stupid show, such a slice of Americana.

I recently saw a current picture of Tina Louise. Trust me guys, don't make that mistake. The years have not been kind. Dawn Wells is in much better shape.
