She was not a surveyor but a person that we could all stand to follow.

Dr. Denmark practiced until she was 103. That was 11 years ago. She graduated Medical School the year after my father was born. Smart lady who cared, really cared, for her patients.
Go with God Dr. Denmark
Amazing! :good:
Hi Andy!
Yes, She was truly one of a kind.
I met her when she was 105 - she was still living in her house by herself at the time.
I had one of the most enlightening conversations with her that I think I've ever had. Funny how little things really change over the course of time - from the 1920's to 2012. I remember her warning me that women should never emulate men because it would back fire on them - big time.(Thank goodness I never had a burning desire to do that) Those who chose to do so would ultimately also follow the men down the rabbit hole (so to speak)and take up their bad habits like smoking, drinking, etc. and they would be much worse off then the men that they chose to emulate.....very good advice. She saw it all coming - I mean what's happening today with our youth and society and a lot of that is in her book.
I would recommend her book "Every Child Should have a Chance" if you can find it. It's a great resource for new moms/dads, but also a good read for anyone because she dispenses advice with great wisdom and good humor that is rare indeed.
One reason she lived so long is because she totally gave up sugar when she was in her 40's, drank nothing but water, didn't smoke and never had a flu shot.
She was a real Georgia Peach!
