> Very well said.
Well said indeed. Ditto all the sentiments above. I have met John a few times and have benefitted from his lectures and his posts as a surveyor.
I lost my father around 15 years ago. It's tough.
You and your family are in my prayers John.
As Wendell so aptly put it, he must have been quite a guy, owing to the stature of his son. You have my heartfelt condolences- I lost my Dad over 20 years ago & still think about him quite often. Take care & remember the good times.
Best regards-
Chuck
I am very sorry for your loss JB.
Some things you only get one of in life. Dads are one of them. Sorry for your loss Mr. Stahl.
My condolences JB.

Wow!! Thank you all, so much!
I've been pretty much out of the loop the past few weeks and just now checked in to see what's been happening. I am amazed with the outpouring of sentiments and condolences (especially from a bunch of hardened surveyors!). You really do care!! (I really had no doubts) ;o) Thank you all! And, thank you, Wendell, for sharing the news with everyone.
My Dad was a great and admirable guy as many of you guessed. He seemed to always enjoy life, family and friends. It's been hard to watch his health decline, but was always "fair to middl'in" when asked how he was feeling. We'll definitely miss having him around. We'll especially miss him next Wednesday when we gather with family for his 80th birthday party (and memorial).
If any of you ever find yourself in the care-giver role, I highly recommend you consider home hospice care. Those people are simply amazing. It truly takes a certain type of saint to provide the care and support they do so well. My Dad had the fortune of starring in one of their commercials shot for a local ad campaign. We'll treasure that video and Heartwood Home Health & Hospice. (I provided a link to the video as it's not the normal Youtube format)
Thanks again, so much. I'm very blessed to have met so many of you and look forward to meeting many more.
Dad's limitless boundaries have finally found their "pleasant place."

Wow!! Thank you all, so much!
Looks like your Dad was a real nice pleasant man.
