Does anyone have experience with the Topcon RD-M1 scanner? I have been working on my company for about 4 years to purchase this unit for our milling and paving needs. The accountants feel the unit is too expensive and and will not give us the accurate data we desire, not a good return on the investment and too complicated to use etc. Many excuses. The ironic thing is my company rented for a summer for me to use, which we used it daily and we have subbed it out 3 times to a sub contractor to scan airports for us. The rental and sub fees could of bought two units.

Anyways, politics aside, I want to put together yet another presentation to convince them to purchase a unit. The Topcon specs are not exciting enough to convince them. Does anyone have any experience to relate how you used it successful or examples of how it saved time.

Hopefully I conveyed things clearly, but looking for more info and wow factors for company accountants.

Thanks

If your sales person that represents Topcon to you cannot help you make a presentation, get a new sales person.

This should be right up your ally.

the sales people have been in and given presentations. They are also the ones we subcontracted to do scanning for us.
