Odd post I know, but I've processed the second years worth of data for Katmai's Fat Bear week after deploying a Trimble TX8 and creating mesh and volumes using tools inside TRW..?ÿ

?ÿ

Last year, XYHt ran an article https://www.xyht.com/lidarimaging/trimble-scanning-roundest-bear/ and there was a bit or a rehash in popular science this year https://www.popsci.com/story/technology/fat-bear-week-laser-scanning-weight-estimates/ ?ÿ Facebook too

A search here in RPLS brought up some pretty old posts on Sketchup, but now that we have tools inside TRW for loading into Sketchup, and before going down that road, are any of you producing lifelike models outside of the digital space like in 3D printing??ÿ What are you using too....

I have 1/2 of a bear in 3D space, which I want....

  • Duplicate the other half of the bear, generating a full bear
  • Texture the bear (adding lifelike features - hair) without going total hollywood
  • Provide a 3D printer format file.
