@wa-id-surveyor Thank you for joining the conversation. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding—the point I was addressing was somewhat different. Briefly, I was interested in an adequate pricing matrix for a specific stage of aerial photography (decoding) for projects in the USA; I know the cost of aerial photography decoding in Israel. The ”basemapconsulting llc“ price matrix is excessive, in my opinion.
I would like to express my special thanks to everyone who participated in the discussion. In general terms, I received answers to my questions.
As for new technologies and their application in the PLS workflow, they operate the same way everywhere, whether it’s Israel or Europe. Learning new software and purchasing new geodetic instruments allows you to be more competitive and earn more.
I suppose this is already a case of professional deformation, but for me, an exhibition of new geodetic equipment is more interesting than, for example, Madame Tussauds (although that is also necessary and very interesting).
For photogrammetry we start at roughly $3,500/day for field data acquisition, depending on travel. That includes ground control, check points, and image acquisition using our Wingtra. Whether it’s 30 acres or 300 acres, the field time isn’t much different, so the cost is the same as long as we can finish in one day.
Photogrammetry processing and deliverables cost can vary greatly depending on project requirements. I’m not sure you can get everything you need for an Alta survey from UAS photogrammetry alone. I would also fly UAS LiDAR, which is significantly more expensive than photogrammetry. My Riegl LiDAR sensor and heavy lift UAV cost about five times what the Wingtra cost, so I have to charge more.
@wa-id-surveyor I would like to suggest, we SHOULD NOT answer the phone for less than $500.
