I didn't know that Yankees were so considerate. Around here, folks generally use the monument as a target for the auger.

Which came first? I could see someone setting a monument where they think it needs to go and cut out a piece of the cap to make it fit. I cannot imagine a fence-builder building a fence and going through the trouble to get down on his knees and cut a corner out of the monument (and while it's still in the ground for that matter).

I think a fence-builder or landowner would spend 1/10th the time to put the corner next to the existing monument if he didn't totally wipe out the monument completely.

But, regardless if that's a result of a Yankee, we need more yankees.

What makes you think the cap was there first?

If those Yankees are from NEW YORK , then they're giving up a lot of property right there!

I've witnessed a fist fight over about that much...........:'(
