Probably chill at home. Spent most of last week in the hospital due to atrial fibrillation drug therapy and I am stiil getting used to new meds.
So, no booze, no caffeine and a pill schedule to obey.
I am very glad 2011 is nearly over as this year has been a struggle healthwise and economically.
Now, if I could just find a candidate, from any party, worthy of support.
Happy New Year to All!
Helping someone move.
Have some bowl games on while I'm using the rest of my Christmas ham in a big pot of split pea soup to go along with surf & turf dinner while the Red Wings come on at 5. Before that I've got some assembling of stuff to do in plastic crates to make room for SWMBO whom I provided a house key and invite to move in as part of her Christmas present (not time yet for a ring - only been 5 yrs). Then likely sit on porch sipping some wine after the Wings victory and watch drunks drive by trying to avoid a DUI by taking a back street. If it's like every other NYE, top it off with a nice warm bath under candlelight and sip on some more wine, only to hit the sack around 10. All in preparation for tomorrows seasonal termination of NFL as the Lions beat the Packers in preparation of the following week when they beat the Cowboys. Monday is even better for sitting around and watching bowl games, eating awesome soup, and downing a few brewskis. Gonna be a great weekend at home.
Have a Safe & Happy New Year All!!
Hoefully I'll be seeing some of this

Lovely. 😐
 THE bar & grill ! (The food is most excellent :good: :good:)
Checking some plats this morning.
Installing a sign that Mrs. File designed for a client this afternoon.
Church Social 4-9, then maybe a movie afterward with my daughters.
If this warm weather holds maybe go shooting tomorrow. Pack Mule File got a 9mm from her BF for Christmas. So that needs some attention. Plus Have a few new things on the fire breathing pig that need to be proven.
Drove to my grandmother's house yesterday and spent the night. My mother left this morning to drive back home (Powder Springs, GA). I am going to go visit with my father in a few and then drive back home to Huntington (about 1 1/2 hr drive). This evening, my wife, daughter and I are attending the service at church that starts at 10:30. Pastor Chuck says that it is going to be the closest thing to a party during a church service you will ever see. They have over 2800 balloons filled with scriptures, games and contests planned, gifts to give away, etc. Going to be a great time. Happy New Year everyone!
Lions beat the Packers! HaHaHa Ha hee hee
Good luck with dat!
Last year Anchorage legalized fireworks in city limits. This year, only if you are 200' away from another home and not in trailer parks at all. Otay....they've been illegal for how many years any hoots? In true trailer trash tradition, we are lighting up the sky tonight! Happy New Year all, 😀

This is the drink of the day here. Took me a bit to find it but thanks to Belmont Station in Portland, home to 1500 different beers and ciders.
Will be a casual evening home and off the road, maybe a fire outside if its not raining too hard. Then tomorrow, because my wife cooked Xmas dinner I get to cook New Years dinner. A traditional British Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding. Some Packer football then to pack gear for a trip to Europe and the Middle East, be back in Feb.

Days are a little longer now......mebbe 5 hours of daylight. 4th of July ain't much for fireworks, but New Years is perfect. We always see private planes cruising at about 1,000', must be the best show around!
Hoping the Packers/Lions game is a good one, I hate blow outs in either direction!

Fortunately, they are my two favorite teams. Unfortunately, it is not on local tv here (usurped by the FOX version of Pantsless vs Aint's) so I have to go the an establishment with the NFL Ticket.... and we all know what that means. Fortunately, it's only a 20 minute walk, so that makes those frosty mugs taste all that much better.
Enjoy your far'works JD. Those ain't legal in this sunny state. I think Sheriff Joe considers them a weapon..;-)
mmmmmm that soup sure smells good. Can't wait
See ya next year Beerleggers. It's gonna be a doozy for certain
Classic TV Westerns
We will meet my cousin and her husband for dinner then return to her home to watch 1950's TV westerns: Lone Ranger, Hoppalong Cassidy, The Cisco Kid, Annie Oakley, Death Valley Days and more than a dozen others. A few years ago they got a boxed set of DVDs, some shows have up to a dozen episodes. We watch until 11:50, watch Dick Clark watch the ball drop and at 12:10 we are on our way home.
Just a bunch of old farts remembering when Dick Clark was in his prime.

Hoppalong
After all these years I still wanna know what happened to my Hoppalong Cassidy Nightlight. It was ten pounds of cast glass and held a 100w bulb (prounounced "lat-bub" down here).
If any of you guys took it...I want it back. Now.
