@Dan B. Robison

I just got a text from Dan Robison. He has one good knee now. I would post the picture he sent me but when he gets off the walker, he might be able to catch me. One knee fixed and one to go. Give him a shout here and see if he will reply.

Part 2, Total Knee Replacement

Don't click the link. Unless you have a strong stomach. I watched part one. It was cool. This is part 2, where it gets installed.

Dan, Do not click the link.

As matter of fact, NOBODY click the link.

He had knee replacement scheduled for yesterday. Glad to know he is doing well. I got to meet Dan in person on Thursday. We had talked many times on the phone previously.

Get well soon my friend!

Soon he will be telling us that this was the smartest thing he ever did and should have done it loooooong ago.

Wife had hip replacement surgery eight or nine years ago. Has kicked herself ever since for not doing it muuuuch sooner.

Hope his surgery and recovery go well.

But any surgery has risks, so postponing isn't necessarily a bad move. I knew a guy whose knee replacement had many complications and he wasn't able to resume activities on schedule. I lost touch with him when he stopped going to the same meetings I did, so don't know how he ended up. And just yesterday I heard of another guy whose replacement ended up causing his foot to point wrong so he has problems.

Steve 'n y'all,
Thanks for the thoughts.
Smartest thing I ever put off for too long.
To keep Steve from getting in trouble, I'll post the photos...

1&2 Morphine with 8 min. DIY button

3&4 Valerie and Big Joe take me for about a 2 chain stroll. Note the grip Joe has on the harness and Valerie's smile 'cause I didn't crash and burn.

5&6 CPM Optiflex (the pusher/leg puller) Swollen Knees?? Right is due to total replacement (Dr said worst he's seen in 15 years)...Left is swollen due to NEEDING total replacement..(hope to have it done in 3-6 months).

Do that rehab hard. Had my acl replaced a couple years back, rehab was hard but vital.

Add a half-quart and keep putting the fire to it. Echoing others, I've heard PT is the clincher. Hope it goes well and fast; somewhere, there's a boundary that needs you.

I'm not sure... was it left knee, right knee, high knee or wee knee?

DDSMDM?
Dan Dan the Six Million Dollar Man.

Laying around like that on a work day, I bet you even had a drink of water.

Get better soon, Dan.

A little over 2 years ago, I went through rehab with 3 groups of total knee. I am going to prod Dan to do it right. I spent 30 minutes on the treadmill today at 3 mph. We started at a 4% grade and finished at 8%. The worst thing is having to walk down hill

Get well soon and wishing you well. Getting old sucks, doesn't it?

I used to think that Centrum Silver Multivitamin tablets were only for over the hill folks. Old farts. It seemed like I would never see the day when I would start to take them. Well, here I am, taking one a day now. Good gawd. What have I become? How did this happen?... It just can't be...

Dan has been a source of encouragement to me. Many tasks in the land of a surveyor, are thankless, hard, and require an industrial grade stomach. We endure flies, mosquitoes, and sudden doubling of scope of job, AFTER pricing it.
Dan used to work for Weyerhaeuser. So did AJ Higginbotham. I wish AJ had gotten his ticket. I am Glad Dan did.
They are a breed of surveyors, who tried to face the music, day in, and day out.
Dan used to call me, and meddle with me. Just a good friend. Dan, get to your feet.
I have a heavy work load. And no money right now. NEED to collect money, to buy cow food. By tonite.
Dan would still be stomping the hills, if he could.
