I have Carlson w/ Intellicad 2011. I am just becoming familiar enough with it to do some small jobs. I am wondering how I can plot to a pdf or any other type of document. The only option it gives me is to plot to a .xps which I can't seem to convert to a .pdf.

Thanks.

Download a "driver" or whatever from primopdf.com (or your favorite free .pdf creator) and install it, then you will choose primoPDF as your "printer" and it will create your pdf. You can then print your pdf.

I don't like the print setup on the icad compared to the autocad version of Carlson, but you get used to it. I do an awful lot of "print preview" to make sure that all of the text gets printed. PDF is a quirky thing... It will sometimes eliminate a sentence or a note in the middle of a paragraph.

You might not hear from Ladd this evening. He is in Columbus Nebraska this fine evening. In fact, just a bit ago he and I were talking over cold beverages.

What you've heard already is correct. Creating a pdf of a drawing is a function of plotting. You install the proper drivers and the pdf software shows up as one of the available printers.

Hope that helps.

Ah... no rest for the weary. 😉 Thank you for the conversation tonight Larry, it was (and always is) a pleasure talking with you... especially after a long drive across the exciting scenery of Iowa in mid-winter. 😛

To the topic at hand, I tend to use www.cutepdf.com for my PDF generation needs. However, current builds of IntelliCAD offer a PDF option found under File -- Export (sent the "Save As Type" to be PDF).

Users will probably get better results with PDF995, CutePDF or other "PDF plotter" systems but IntelliCAD itself does come with built-in PDF capability.

Seems like all my CS programs I've had had the option to print to a PDf built right into the programs.
DWG to PDF.pc3

07 and 11 had that option built right in, or they somehow just appeared...

Cutepdf is the one I use as well and I can't say that I've ever had any problems with it.
