I've posted three other small-format panels in this series of images of the Fort Davis area. Here's a fourth one from yesterday evening:
The sky is very nicely done, I must say.

Thanks. That particular image is more of a souvenir painting showing the original telescope at the McDonald Observatory. Painting night skies using long-exposure photos for reference is lots of fun.
I want that one!

Thanks, Robert. It's another little (8 x 10) souvenir painting.
Kent, I bet you could find some work painting back-drops for model railroad layouts if you wanted. I'm in a forum similar to here but much bigger. Some of these guys have some back-drops that look like photographs.
There is an entire section on just scenery and stuff. One friend has been painting one of his back-drops over the past few week ends.
I bet if you ever tire of chasing down fence lines and reading old deeds, you could easily find some work in this niche world.
Just a thought.

Very nice!!!!
:good:
Looks like a Kent van Gogh version of Starry Nights?
Nice painting!

You might find this interesting then. A photographer friend of mine does some field trips with this cat, who is crazy about night-sky-long-exposure photography:

Well, it inspires me to visit the observatory someday.
LOL
My Wife grew up in Ft Davis and one of the bridesmaids in our wedding was the daughter of one of the directors of the observatory.

Fort Davis has never been that large a town. When did she leave?
Great work.:good:
