I like it, because I know what the buttons do. I like it because it is low profile, and not too heavy.
I seem to break the band, about once a year. And, the replacement bands cost the same as the watch. So, I just buy another. I do wish I could get good replacement bands, for less money than the watch!
Just our weird economic world, I guess.

This is my favorite for many of the same reasons. I did not know it is RARE :-O
I wear them until the metal clip on the band no longer stays latched then buy a new one.

I haven't worn a watch for more than a decade now
I usually have a clock or a computer around to tell me the time
I guess my cellphone has become the equivalent of a pocket watch when I'm in the field
I still like the analog watch. Not sure why, but I have just started to dislike the digitals. I have a kind of quality one, but I'm not sure if it's worth spending the cleaning fee every few years, or if it's just as well to get one that isn't worth any more than the band and just expect to replace it. Right now, mine is "down" and I need to send it in.
Beware - that looks a lot like this one -
that is often used by terrorists as a timer for improvised explosive devices.
Supposedly the Casio F-91W is the "sign of al-Qaeda."

Just sayin'
I used to use a Rolex, and after it started losing minutes a day I was informed that the mainspring was kaput. The replacement mainspring cost was ridiculous, so I purchased a Skagen titanium case & band watch at a Sharper Image shop. I knew that there is a break-in period for electronic watches, and after the initial couple of years the quartz crystal now keeps much better time than the old Rolex GMT Master ever did.
Years ago I used to do a lot of Polaris shots with my HP-41CV with a separate Time Module. That thing was so accurate it was amazing to me because I could "calibrate" the thing to WWV over a week's time and it would almost match WWV perfectly for several weeks afterwards.

It looks like they don't need their watch bands; maybe you can get their surplus cheap.
A friend of mine has a rolex he originally bought in the 70's. He said it has started to lose time, and inquired about getting it fixed. He told me that it costs $1,000 to repair them (flat fee? I don't know).
I got a Seiko kinetic. It's fairly nice looking and it has an internal battery that can keep accurate time. The kinetic movement keeps the battery charged, instead of keeping it running directly like the self-winding watches. Repair is around $50. Although not cheap, it's no $1,000.
I too like a Timex, but the particular model I like is no longer in production. It is an "Expedition" - analog and digital, dual time zones, stop watch, etc. Put a Speidel twist-o-flex band on it and it is dressy, but durable.
When it went out of production a few years back I went on eBay and bought several. I do wear them out. Just checked and none of the specific model I like are there today.
O! Tom!
Thank you so much for your very useful answer. I don't happen to know any around here though. But, boy, that is astute!

Casio G Shock is the best watch for the money. I have gone through all of the cheapos and timex and none of them hold up like a Casio. I have had my current watch for 5 years. I am hard on watches, and this one has held up beautifully.
I too have one. I was given it for 10 years of service in 2001. In 2012, I had to send it to Seiko to have the internal battery replaced (it's not really a battery but close enough).
When I first got it, I set it to the time cube and would check it a month later and it was nearly to the second.

Then you don't trust many people under the age of 25. 🙂 Most kids I know do not wear one. They look at their phone.
