I thought it was outrageous to pay $11 to see Springsteen in high school when The River came out because I'd only paid $9 a couple of years earlier to see Zeppelin
But when tickets went on sale this week, fans were shocked to discover that prices continued to fluctuate as the sale went on, with some good-but-not front of house tickets going for $4,000 to $5,000 at times, according to Variety.
For the past several years Ticketmaster has been rolling out a dynamic pricing initiative for major tours by Paul McCartney, Bad Bunny and Harry Styles. What are termed ??platinum tickets,? which can be at any part of a venue, will continue to rise and fall in price in reaction to ongoing demand.

Seemed that way when I was looking at Eagles tickets, cheap nosebleed seats started at 170, then were offered at a "special early price" of the same thing. When I finally bought, I paid a little more (after tickets and the selling site adds their fee) it was over 500 for two tickets (well worth it though, they are still going strong, how often do you get a 3hr concert from one band anymore). we sat in the first row of the upper level over the tunnel, so the only thing blocking our view was some wires in font of the screens and the stragglers (almost an hour in and some people were still arriving and looking for their seats). I did one last look just before the concert started and the very top seats were at 99, and I could have gotten into the next level for what I paid.
The seats on the floor were going for well over 1000 and at one point were 15000, but from what i saw they would have been terrible seats, you're at the same level with everyone else and you would probably get a crick in your neck looking up at the stage or more likely the big screens because I bet you don't have a good view of the stage.

I had said early on if I'm paying 15000 it better come with dinner with the band, a massage chair, or private masseuss.
@richard-germiller my girlfriend and I saw Bob Segar's final tour at the Wells Fargo center in Philly a few years ago.?ÿ I paid $400/ticket and was choking over the price but we were on the fiest level, stage right, no more than 150' from the stage with a full view of everything.?ÿ It was a great show.
Elton John just played the same venue a few weeks ago and I would have loved to have gone but mediocore seats were going for $900.

I use a fair number of Carsonite witness posts. Price for 20 including shipping is now $600. They just priced themselves out of my use
Springsteen, the working man's friend, is big enough that he could produce his own shows and charge ticket prices more in keeping with the working man's means, and still make plenty of loot for himself. But he chooses to charge what the market bears and cash the checks instead.?ÿ
a few years ago in Philly and this past May at the MGM Grand would constitute quite the difference I'm sure - the BIG question in my mind is was it worth the price? unfortunately you really don't know until it's over, we both kinda balked at the price initially, but after the show we both agreed that we would have paid more for better seats and I'm glad I didn't cheap out for the super nosebleed section. We may do Van Morrison thus fall - he's at Caesar's, then coming right to PHX after, but its real close to timing for my sons wedding, so if we really want to see him we will most likely opt for here rather than a weekend in Vegas.

In 2003, $25 CDN (or, like, couch change what with the exchange for my friends south of the border) got me a ticket to see (the later in the day, the more famous the act):
Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi
Sam Roberts
Kathleen Edwards
La Chicane
The Tea Party
The Flaming Lips
Sass Jordan
The Isley Brothers
Blue Rodeo
Justin Timberlake
The Guess Who/Bachman Turner Overdrive
Rush
AC/DC
The Rolling Stones

Yeah, it was a one-off but it's the benchmark I compare all concerts to.
