I've been seeing this on facebook, and I haven't even tried to count them yet. Seems to be the number is around 34 or so. How many can you find?
Carl
Edit. My first quick count is 40, but I'm pretty sure there's more.
Now I'm at 44.
Quick count of 40
41
45
I'll call the most common size one unit
8 of half-unit side
18 of 1-unit
9 of 2-unit
4 of 3-unit
1 of 4-unit
------
40
Of what size do you guys find more?
The square it self needs to be counted.
1 of 1
You also need to count the squares that are 2 to to a side, there are 9 of those. and then the 3 to a side, there are 4 of those. There are 4 smaller squares inside the common sized ones that are bisected by others. And then, like was said, the big outside square.
I just got 44 i think your right .
Slow day? 😛

A little. I'm calculating and drafting amongst other things. 🙂

Well detailed and tiz what I got.
i counted the same as you: 40
4 x 4 1
3 x 3 4
2 x 2 9
1 x 1 18
.5 x .5 8

Gonna have to agree with you. I must have been double counting somewhere.

I get 40 also, but mine are
8 10 acre units
18 40 acre units
9 160 acre units
4 360 acre units
1 640 acre unit

Acres, I love it!:-D
44
As listed above for 40 plus 4 more 3x3

I saw 4 3X3 listed in the 40 listed above....you get 8 of them? I don't see it.
You simply start in the upper left corner and count the squares down (4), then continue along the bottom (3) you can’t count #4 again.
Add the squares (3+4) = 7 Plus the two squares inside and the whole shebang square to arrive at 10. Then multiply 10 times 4 (the number of squares on one side) = 40 😀
Y’all have a great week! B-)
